The fatal stampede at the recently conducted Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) recruitment exercise is still keeping tongues wagging.
In an attempt to make amends for the deaths of job seekers, President Jonathan has ordered the cancellation of the screening.
He has also ordered the embattled Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, to refund the N1,000 application fee collected from job seekers who were to write the ill fated aptitude test that turned sour.
From reports gathered, it is believed that at least 16 people lost their lives during the gruesome selection process which was conducted all around the country. Hence, it has been nullified.
According to the Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, a panel had been set up to conduct another recruitment process.
Is it really about the N1000? What is being done about the pitiable situation of the Nigerian youth and their continous humiliation as evident in the exercise?
