The highly anticipated B2S Adult Literacy Campaign has officially kicked off in Lagos, Nigeria.
The campaign began on air August 15th at Wazobia 95.1 FM, where official supporters of the program went live with Yaw of Wazobia FM.
The program organized by SpellAfrica Initiative, in collaboration with Lagos State Agency For Mass Literacy, Adult & Non-Formal Education, sensitized the public on how the campaign aims to wipe illiteracy out of Lagos State.
We gave out free slots to 200 youths and adults to register for the FREE 9 months literacy training. We also solicited for volunteers, teachers and sponsors to support the campaign.
The day after the official launch, we took the message to the streets. It was a very successful street campaign with a large number of illiterate youths and adults registering onsite to be among the 200 to benefit from this campaign.
B2S officials are currently stationed at the pilot training venue at Igboefon Primary School, Igboefon, Lekki, as more youths and adults are teeming in for the registration.
According to Erezi Edoreh, the CEO of SpellAfrica Initiative, “We need all products of Literacy, to support and join us in this campaign, as we intend to institute this free literacy training in each local government of Lagos State“.
